The VI Seminar on Image Reading: The Epistemology of Nise da Silveira, held in Recife on October 18, 2024, brought together participants to discuss the contributions of psychiatrist Nise da Silveira to the field of Analytical Psychology and art as a therapeutic and investigative tool for the psyche. This annual event explored how Nise, a pioneer in using images and artistic expressions to access the unconscious, transformed the understanding and treatment of patients, particularly within Jungian psychology.
During the presentation titled "The Images of C.G. Jung’s Patients," given by Claudio Mele, it was discussed how Jung and his patients used image expression to represent unconscious contents, establishing parallels with Nise’s practices. These images offered a unique access to the symbolic world of the unconscious, serving as a bridge between the conscious self and the deep psyche.
The complete material is available at the link below, where the visual representations of patients and their importance in understanding the psyche were explored, whether in the context of Jung's theories or in the legacy of Nise da Silveira.
Currently, this material is available in Portuguese.
